The ISPRS event 2nd International Conference of Geomatics and Restoration (GEORES 2019) organized by the Politecnico di Milano, in conjunction with the Università degli Studi Firenze (UNIFI) and Politecnico di Torino (POLITO) took place in Milan from 8 – 10 May 2019.
Under the topic “Cultural Heritage: challenges, new perspectives and technology innovation. Towards informative content models and beyond” over 150 international examples, especially on HBIM, archaeology, and virtual reconstruction were presented orally and in two poster sessions.
Ferdinand Maiwald represented the junior research group HistStadt4D as chair of the session “Content based eXtended REALITY (AR/MR/VR)“ and additionally, with the collaborative paper “Geo-Information Technologies for a multimodal Access on Historical Photographs and Maps for Research and Communication in Urban History” by Ferdinand Maiwald, Frank Henze, Jonas Bruschke and Florian Niebling presented in the session “Heritage documentation in the PRE-DIGITAL ERA“.
The contribution in combination with the oral presentation was honored with the “Best Paper Award” by the committee of the conference.
